(scene 1)（シーン１）
N1:About 2000 years ago, people in
Israel had to pay tax money to the Roman Emperor.
２０００年ほど昔、イスラエルでは民はローマ皇帝に税金を納めなくてはなりませんでした。
N2:Zacchaeus was a tax collector. He
was short. He was nasty. He took
extra money from people and kept it for himself. He became very rich.
ザアカイは取税人でした。 背が低く、意地悪な男でした。
人々からお金を余分に取り上げては、自分の懐に入れていました。
それで金持ちになりました。
Z: Pay me the tax money!
税金を払え！
P1: Here you are.
はい、どうぞ。
Z: Not enough. Give me more!
これでは足りん！ もっとよこせ！
P1: It’s not fair! Too much money!
そんなの、ずるいです。多すぎます！
Z: Give me more!
よこせと言っているのだ！
P1: Oh no!
ああ、そんな〜
P2: Are you OK?
だいじょうぶ？
P3: Zacchaeus! You are selfish! You
are greedy!
ザアカイ、お前は身勝手だ！ 欲張りめ！
P4: You are cheater!
お前は詐欺師だ！
P3: I hate you! Everyone hates you!
お前が憎い！ だれもがお前を憎んでいる！
P: We hate you! We hate you! We all
hate you!
お前が憎い、お前が憎い！ 皆お前が大嫌いだ！
N3: Everyone was gone. Zacchaeus was
rich. But he was not happy. He had no friends.
He was lonely.
みんな行ってしまいました。ザアカイは金持ちでした。でも幸せではありませんでした。友達も1人もいませんでした。ザアカイは孤独でした。
(scene2)（シーン２）
N1: One day, Jesus Christ came to
town. He told people words of God.
He healed sick people. He did a lot of miracles.
ある時、イエス・キリストが町にやって来ました。イエス様は人々に 神様の御言葉を伝えました。 病気の人を治しました。多くの奇跡を行いました。
N2: Everyone was exited. Everyone
wanted to see Him.
Everyone wanted to listen to Him.
Zacchaeus wanted to see Him, too.
みんな興奮していました。みんなイエス様をひと目、見たいと思いました。
イエス様の言葉を聞きたい、と思いました。
ザアカイも、イエス様に会ってみたくなりました。
P1: Here comes Jesus!
イエス様がいらっしゃったわよ！
P2: Welcome, Jesus!
イエス様、ようこそ！
P3: We are very glad to see you,
Jesus!
お会いできて光栄です、イエス様！
J: Hello.
やあ。
D: A lot of people came to see you,
my Lord.
大勢の者たちがあなたを見ようと集まっております、主よ。
J: Yes. I see them.
ああ、そのようだ。
Z: I want to see Jesus. Ah, excuse
me!
俺もイエス様を見たいもんだ。 ああ、ちょっとどいてくれないか。
P: Oh, Zacchaeus . No. No. ! Don’t
come!
. あっ、ザアカイの奴だ。 だめだ、だめだ！ 通すものか！
Z: Well. OK.. I will climb up that
sycamore tree.
あ〜あ。 よおし、あのいちじく桑の木に登るぞ。
Z: Oh! Nice view! Wow! Now I can see
Jesus!
おお！ いい眺めだ！ イエス様がよく見える！
J: Zacchaeus. Come down! I am going to your house today!
ザアカイ。降りて来なさい。今夜、あなたの家に泊まることにします。
Z: What!? My house? Jesus comes to my
house? Oh, no! Oh, great!
何だって？ 俺の家に？ イエス様が俺の家にいらっしゃるって？
まさか！ こりゃすごい！
P: His house? Jesus comes to his
house? Oh, no! Oh, why?
あいつの家に？ イエス様がザアカイの家に？ まさか！ 何で？
♪(Song) （ザアカイの歌）
All: Zacchaeus was a wee little man, A wee little man was he.
He climbed up in the sycamore tree, the Savior for to see.
And when the Savior passed that way, He looked up in the tree,
ザアカイはちびな男。 イエス様を一目見ようといちじく桑の木に登った。救い主が通りかかった時、主は上を見上げて言った。
J: Zacchaeus, you come down.
I’m going to your house today.
ザアカイ、降りて来なさい。今夜、あなたの家に泊まることにします。
(scene3)（シーン３）
N1: Jesus visited Zaccaeus’ house.
People came to his house, too.
They ate delicious dinner.
イエス様はザアカイの家を訪ねました。 人々も大勢やって来ました。
そこでおいしいご馳走をいただきました。
N4: Zacchaeus was happy. Then he became sorry.
ザアカイはとても幸せでした。けれどだんだん、申しわけない気持ちになりました。
Z: Jesus loves everyone. He is kind
to everyone. Even a bad man like me.
イエス様はすべての人を同じように愛されている。誰に対しても、
親切になさっている。俺のような悪者にさえも…
Z : Jesus, my Lord. I will give half
of my money away.
I will
give back four times what I took to
anyone I cheated.
I promise
to be a good man.
イエス様、我が主よ。私は財産の半分を貧しい人たちに施します。
また誰からでも、私がだまし取った物は4倍にして返します。
J: Salvation has come this house
today.
For I have
come to find lost people and save them.
今日、救いがこの家に来ました。 人の子は失われた人を探して、救うために来たのです。
P: Hooray! Thank you Jesus! Thank you
Zacchaeus!
やったあ！ ありがとう、イエス様！ ありがとう、ザアカイ！

Little ones to Him belong. They are weak but He is strong..

イエス様は私を愛して下さる。私はそれをわかっています。
聖書にそう書いてあります。 人間は皆弱くて小さな存在だけれど、
力強い神様の懐に抱かれています。
